About

Established by Brian O’Connell and Deirdre O’Dwyer in 2016, Rakish Light operates two lithographic offset presses and other technologies of the reproductive arts. RL publications include artists’ books and editions by its founding partners and other collaborators. All projects are realized in the studio with the technologies and conditions at hand.

Rakish Light has two agendas:

1. Rakish Light Projects.
Publications and events by RL.

2. Rakish Light Editions.
Rakish Light invites proposals for publications and other ideas.

About the Offset Presses
Rakish Light’s foundational technology is the AB Dick lithographic offset press. We have two, a 350 and a 360, from the last century. They reproduce, through the mutual resistance of water and oil-based ink, images first transferred by the sun onto photosensitive plates.
